INDIANAPOLIS — Nexstar stations across the state of Indiana are teaming up to broadcast 2024’s first live televised debate of the Republican candidates for governor.
The one-hour debate will air at 7 p.m. on March 26 from the FOX59/CBS4 studios in Indianapolis. The debate will be broadcast live in the Terre Haute market on WAWV.
This comes as a number of candidates have entered the race to replace Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb, a Republican. Holcomb is not able to seek reelection because of term limits.
Six Republicans and two Democrats have filed for their respective 2024 primaries. The hotly-contested Republican primary involves some big names in Indiana politics, including:
- U.S. Senator Mike Braun (R-Ind.)
- Brad Chambers, the former secretary of commerce for the state of Indiana
- Suzanne Crouch, Indiana’s lieutenant governor
- Eric Doden, the former president of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation
- Curtis Hill, Indiana’s former attorney general
- Jamie Reitenour
Nexstar debate criteria will be used to determine which of the Republican candidates will be eligible for the debate in late March.
