VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Three people have been arrested following a pursuit in northern Vigo County.
According to the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office, it happened at 2 a.m. on Thursday on Lafayette Avenue in Terre Haute. A deputy attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle, however the driver, Michael Graves, 47, of Mecca, refused to stop and a pursuit began.
The chase travelled north and turned onto Lambert Avenue.
Chief Deputy Steve Meng reported that while on Lambert Avenue, Graves leapt from the drivers seat while the vehicle was still moving and began to flee on foot. A K-9 was able to catch up to Graves and apprehend the man.
Graves along with his two passengers were all arrested after a short investigation.
Chief Deputy Meng lists the following as preliminary charges for the arrests;
- Michael Graves 47, of Mecca, Indiana
- Resisting law enforcement (x2)
- Possession of a syringe
- Identity deception
- Reckless driving
- Driving while suspended
- Possession of paraphernalia
- Outstanding warrant out of Parke County
- Melissa Spivey, 47, of Beech Grove, Indiana
- Identity deception
- Possession of a syringe
- Outstanding warrants from Putnam and Shelby counties
- Angela Sanchez, 46, of West Terre Haute, Indiana
- Identity deception
- Possession of a syringe
- Outstanding warrant out of Parke County
