TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Sunday, The Vigo County History Center hosted residents to learn more about Abraham Lincoln.
Actor Danny Russel has been teaching communities across Indiana about famous members of society for multiple decades. He says that this is something that has always piqued his interest.
“Acting has always been my passion,” he said. “I have also always had a passion for history. One day, my wife said that I was tall and skinny, to grow out a beard, and perform as Lincoln. As the years go by, my lesson to you is to always listen to your wife.”
Russel said he’s happy to help spread this history outside of the classroom and he’s studied some of the country’s top museums. He adds that he wants to make history something enjoyable for all ages.
“I say that if it is conveyed in an exciting fashion with passion, it is vitally important, and that is why I do this kind of work,” added Russel.
The History Center also hosted a speaker on Saturday discussing the Lost Creek Settlement in Vigo County.
