FARMERSBURG, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A local commissioner has announced she is running for the Indiana state legislature.

Kellie Streeter has filed to run for the Republican nomination for Indiana State Representative District 45. That district represents Greene and Sullivan Counties, as well as parts of Daviess, Knox, and Vigo Counties.
Streeter is currently a Knox County Commissioner and has held that office for eight years.
“As a strong Republican leader in Knox County for the past eight years, I have a proven track record of finding ways to work with all elected officials, not for profit groups, businesses and individuals no matter their political affiliations,” Streeter said. “It is about finding solutions for the people we serve, not personal opinions and agendas. I am the woman to get that job done!”
Streeter will face district 45 incumbent, State Representative Bruce Borders in the May primary election.
Indiana’s primary election day is May 7.
