TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — It’s the season for music and helping worthy causes.
Wednesday night, people enjoyed the music of the 12th annual Counterpoints for a Cause. The event took place at Memorial United Methodist Church.
It featured choirs from Terre Haute North, Otter Creek and Woodrow Wilson middle schools. Counterpoints and patriot singers also presented the Polar Express The event also raised money for the VCSC Backpack Program.
Senior at Terre Haute North Rollie Shepherd said he loves giving back to the community.
“It is just so nice knowing that you’re doing something to make a change. Even if it’s something that I enjoy as much as singing. I would do this for free, and the fact that I get to do it for free and give to other people through it, it’s just something I wouldn’t change for the world,” Shepherd said.
The Director of choirs at Terre Haute North is Michelle Azar. The Director of choirs at Otter Creek is Chris Williams. The Director of choirs at Woodrow Wilson is Kyle Mcardell and the accompanist is Kurt Perry.
