CLAY COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Hundreds of local children got the chance to have breakfast with Santa Claus Saturday morning.
This event was hosted by the Indiana Sheriffs’ Youth Ranch and had plenty of activities for kids to enjoy. They were able to make ornaments for the tree, write their Christmas list and then show it to Santa himself.
Scott Minier is the executive director of the Indiana Sheriffs’ Youth Ranch, and he always looks forward to this time of year.
“It was always things like this that made it the most rewarding because it just reinforces that there are a lot of good people in the community and there are a lot of good people in law enforcement,” said Minier.
He also wanted to add how important an event like this can be for local children.
“An event like this lets children see law enforcement in a good light. A lot of things nowadays don’t do that. It is important for these kids to know that law enforcement is always there to help them with anything they need,” added Minier.
