TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Chances and Services for Youth focus this holiday, is to serve those that might not enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner.
With support from J. Ford`s Black Angus, CASY hosted its annual Thanksgiving Dinner at the Booker T. Washington Community Center Tuesday evening. Volunteers and staff with CASY prepared over 200 meals to families in need during the holiday season.
CASY also serves children and families every single day of the year, with this just being one of many ways this local organization gives back to the community.
Youth Program Director for CASY, Holly Mullenix has been helping with the dinner for 11 years and she says it’s a great opportunity to get together.
“It’s very important to have this just so we can all share time together and get to meet new people in the community, and share a nice warm dinner together,” Mullenix said.
Due to the yearly support from J. Ford’s Black Angus, CASY has been able to serve over 10,000 children in the community.
