TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Halloween festivities continue around Vigo County as Fowler Park hosted a series of events to celebrate the holiday on Saturday.
In the first part of the afternoon, dozens gathered Halloween-themed hayrides along with trick or treating. These rides took residents all through Fowler Park’s pioneer village and through some of the park itself.
The trick or treating also took place within the cabins of the pioneer village.
Emily Starbuck is the recreational coordinator for the Vigo County Parks department, and she explains why they wanted to host this event.
“This is just a way for us to kind of jump into that game and get people out here to show them, one, how educational our cabins are, but also how creepy and freaky they are,” said Starbuck.
She also wanted to add that her love for scary things makes this a dream come true for her.
“I always loved scary movies and being scared growing up, so it is a dream come true to be able to share those good feelings that I had to the people of this community,” added Starbuck.
This wasn’t the only thing on Saturday at Fowler Park. They also hosted their Fowler Park After Dark event for more mature audiences.
