TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A teen who police said stole six cartons worth of vapes from a Terre Haute gas station has been given new court dates.
According to court records, Cody Scherb will next appear in court for a bail review hearing on December 7. Vigo County jail records show Scherb has been incarcerated since March 29 on $35,000 bail with no 10% allowed.
Scherb was on probation in relation to a case surrounding the death of Chloe Carroll at the time of his arrest on charges of burglary, theft, and resisting law enforcement. Police said they caught Scherb and another person burglarizing the Express Mart located at 1831 N. 3rd Street.
In a hearing in Vigo County Superior Court 6 on Thursday, Scherb’s was also given new pre-trial and jury trial dates that pushed the case into 2024.
Scherb’s pre-trial is now scheduled for February 1, 2024 at 1:30 p.m., with a jury trial scheduled for 1 p.m. on April 1, 2024.
