WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Firefighters with Sugar Creek Fire were dispatched to a home on N. 7th Street in West Terre Haute for reports of a fire.
According to Sugar Creek Fire Department Assistant Chief Jared Daugherty, when firefighters arrived they found that the fire was in the home’s basement.
Daugherty said all occupants were able to get out of the home safely and that no one was injured in the incident.
Daugherty added that the primary damaging factor for the home was smoke. The Red Cross was contacted to assist displaced residents as a result.
New Goshen Fire Department and Trans-Care Ambulance also responded to the scene.
