TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Get your quack on by adopting a duck for the Rubber Duck Regatta. Each duck costs $5 or can be purchased in packs.
Purchasing a single duck will provide 20 meals through Terre Haute Catholic Charities for those in need. For $25 you can purchase a Quack Pack, which provides a month’s worth of snacks, evening meals, mentoring, and after-school activities for a child through Ryves Youth Center.
The Flock of Ducks Pack is $50 and can provide Christmas gifts for a family. And last but not least, Waddles Winning Pack is $100 and can provide three meals a day for a family at the Bethany House.
“I really appreciate the Wabash Valley Rubber Duck Regatta. It’s one of those fun events where children, families just have a great time I think coming to Fairbanks Park and watching the ducks as they float down the river,” Assistant Director of Catholic Charities Jennifer Tames said.
The Rubber Ducks will then race down the Wabash River. One lucky duck will win $10,000 on July 4th.
Ducks can be purchased by form made out to 1801 Poplar Street on Mondays from 11 to 3 p.m. and Tuesdays/Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or at in-person adoption events which are listed on their website.
