ALTAMONT, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — An Illinois woman, charged with setting an animal on fire and filming it, was originally set to face a jury this week.
Jasmine Meyer of Effingham is charged with animal cruelty.
Police say she set an animal on fire and filmed it as it frantically ran around until it was dead. She then allegedly posted the video to Facebook. It appeared to be a guinea pig or hamster.

On the video, you could allegedly hear the suspect laughing, as another voice could be heard warning her that the animal could light the house on fire.
