VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A northern Indiana man received non-life-threatening injuries after the semi he was driving left the roadway and flipped onto its top.
The crash occurred Monday afternoon on SR 641 southbound where the road merges with US 41.
According to Indiana State Police, the driver was driving too fast for the exit ramp and drifted off the west side of the roadway. Once off the road the semi lost control and inverted onto its top.
The crash led to the closure of the SR 641 exit ramp. However, according to a post from Sgt. Matt Ames, the 641 exit ramp to US 41 southbound is now open again. Ames also noted that emergency crews are still in the area and advises caution.
Ames said the driver, a 35-year-old man from northern Indiana, was taken to a Terre Haute hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
When asked if he believed the weather could be a factor, Ames said he didn’t believe that to be the case and said the driver was just driving too fast for the curve.
