TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — An investigation is ongoing regarding an inmate at the Vigo County Jail who died in the early morning hours of Dec. 25.
According to a release from the Vigo County Sheriff, at around 12:50 a.m. on Dec. 25, an inmate at the Vigo County Jail was found unresponsive in a cell. Emergency services were contacted immediately while Vigo County Jail medical personnel attended to the inmate.
The inmate was identified as Adam Bryant, 29, who was alone in the cell at the time of his death, and the release states, “there were no signs indicative of foul play.”
The Coroner’s Office was then notified and responded to assist with the situation. Bryant was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy is being conducted to determine the cause of death.
An investigation is currently underway.
