TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Department of Natural Resources is offering free admission to DNR properties on Black Friday.
The DNR is giving families a great opportunity to continue their holiday celebrations together by enjoying time outdoors on Black Friday. All passengers in one vehicle will get into DNR properties for free on Friday, Nov. 25. Folks can enjoy state parks and forests, state-managed reservoirs, nature preserves, fish & wildlife areas, and off-road state recreation areas for free.
Along with free admission for all passengers in a single vehicle, people can enter into drawings for DNR prizes. Ranging from DNR annual passes, lake permits, Outdoor Indiana Magazine subscriptions, Smokey the Bear items, gift cards, and outdoor experiences led by DNR staff, there’s something for everyone.
“Being able to spend time outdoors at one of your DNR properties any time helps make you a winner, but we are glad to waive the admission fee and offer these great prizes to add to your outdoor experience when you opt outside on Black Friday this year,” said DNR Director Dan Bortner.
To increase your chances of winning the drawings, you can participate in any or all of the following activities:
- Share photos of your outing with DNR social media pages with #OptOutsideIN2022,
- Download and finish the Opt Out Scavenger Hunt for the location you visit and send it here
- Check-in at any DNR property on this list with the Indiana State Nature Passport.
Winners of the drawings will be notified through social media and will be listed on this site by Dec. 16.
