TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WAWV/WTWO) – A new exhibit panel highlighting Eva Kor’s activism will now be available for the community to view, at the CANDLES Holocaust Museum and Education Center.
Eva Kor opened the education center in Terre Haute back in 1995 in an effort to prevent prejudice and hatred about the Holocaust through education.
Kor passed in 2019 and the new exhibit panel is just one of the nonprofit’s many ways to keep her memory alive.
The new exhibit panel will include four artifacts, as well as both color and black & white photos of Kor throughout the years.
CANDLES Executive Director Troy Fears said the museum looks forward to the addition of the new panel.
“We are excited to add this part of Eva’s story to our main exhibit,” Fears said. “Eva was very passionate about finding out what experiments were done to her, her twin sister Miriam, and others at Auschwitz. She had a strong desire for the truth to come out. This new exhibit panel shows just a small part of her activism through the years.”
The panel can be viewed at the museum Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The cost will be $7 per person.
