INDIANAPOLIS (WAWV/WTWO) – The Poetry Society of Indiana (PSI) has announced the inaugural Young Voices Annual Poetry Contest.
Members of the non-profit organization are both Hoosier clubs and individuals that seek to unite poets while recognizing cultural heritage and linguistic contexts.
The contest is just one of PSI’s ways to educate the public and encourage poets throughout Indiana.
There are five contest categories based on grades 3-12 statewide.
All students public, private, and home-school students are welcome upon teacher recommendation.
Submissions should be unpublished and no longer than the 30-line limit, including blank lines.
First-place winners will receive public acknowledgment on the PSI website and social media platforms. The poems may be published in the annual anthology Ink to Paper.
The deadline for submissions is September 15, 2022.
