PARIS, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — A physician who spent 36 years serving the community will be honored by Horizon Health with a dedication event.
Dr. Leland Phipps was described as a highly respected physician before passing suddenly May 22, 2017.
Officials with Horizon Health are remembering Phipps by dedicating a new expansion in his name. The Phipps Center for Primary Care will be located on the main campus of Horizon Health in Paris, Illinois.
The dedication ceremony will be held on Saturday, June 25 at 2 p.m.
An open house will be held later this summer with the public invited Thursday, July 21 to step inside and get a glimpse at the new facility.
Refreshments, tours, and give-a-ways will be available. Horizon asks all attending to wear a mask and maintain proper social distancing practices.
