TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – CASY’s 16th annual Dancing with the Terre Haute Stars returns in an effort to raise money for kids in the Wabash Valley.
All dancers are in charge of raising their own donations and performing a dance.
Last year the effort broke a record by raising over $285,000 and organizers hope this year will be just as successful.
“This fundraiser helps support so many of the programs that we have at Chances And Services for Youth,” Brandon Halleck, COO of CASY said. “From Big Brothers Big Sisters to After-School Programs to Camp Rave or even our Youth Leadership, we wouldn’t be able to do the programming without this fundraiser.”
All proceeds will benefit programs hosted by CASY. The winner is chosen based on which dancer raises the most money.
In 2007, Dancing with the Terre Haute Stars featured 9 dancers who helped raise $33,000. Since
that time, the event has grown with nearly 1,100 people in attendance. Last year’s event featured
11 dancers who helped raise over $285,000. The winner was Michelle Hein. In total, Dancing with
the Terre Haute Stars has had 185 stars who have helped raise more than $2.3 Million for
Chances And Services for Youth’s programs.
