WASHINGTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Over 2 pounds of what police allege to be illegal oxycodone pills and marijuana were seized following a police chase through areas of Daviess and Pike county.
In a Facebook post, the Washington Police Department reported the arrest of 37-year-old Toddrick Ogburn. According to police, at approximately 12:56 p.m. on March 13, dispatch was notified by Indiana State Police that there was a car traveling at speeds of more than 130 MPH heading south on I-69.
Officers located the vehicle as it passed the Washington exit, and reportedly attempted to stop the vehicle but were unsuccessful. Shortly after engaging in the chase, police reported that officers with Pike County were able to deploy “spike strips” and brought the vehicle to a stop.
During a search of the area in which Ogburn was arrested officers were able to find more than 2 pounds of pills with markings reportedly consistent with oxycodone. Police also reported finding marijuana and cash in the vehicle.
Ogburn was taken to the Daviess County Security Center and charged with dealing a schedule II controlled substance, resisting law enforcement, and a charge of driving while being a habitual traffic violator.
According to police, the following day on March 14, officers with the DEA task force continued the investigation into Henderson, Ky. where they searched Ogburn’s residence. Officers found an additional 300 grams of pills, marijuana, and a small amount of cash.
The pills from both incidents are being sent to a laboratory to be tested for fentanyl.
