TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Indiana State University hosted the 2022 Polar Plunge to support Special Olympics Indiana on Saturday.
All money collected from the event will go towards Special Olympics Indiana. ISU is the site of one of 17 Polar Plunge events that will take place across the state.
Participants were asked to raise $85 before taking a plunge in a freezing cold pool.
John Lentz has been involved with Special Olympics for decades and he said that this is a great way to give back.
“It’s the one thing I look forward to doing every year and it’s the way I give back to a very deserving group,” Lentz said.
The Special Olympics Indiana Summer Games will also be held at Indiana State University.
