TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — For the ninth straight year B&S Plumbing & Heating Inc. and Downtown Terre Haute Rotary are assisting local families with providing a holiday meal this winter season.
In partnership with Terre Haute Catholic Charities Foodbank, the two groups are providing 300 turkey breasts to families in the area to help complete their holiday dinners.
“The holidays are times for family, but they can be a difficult time for those families that are living with food
insecurity,” Sally Stewart, B&S Plumbing & Heating Inc., said.
Catholic Charities will distribute 300 frozen turkey breasts and other food items at Benjamin Franklin
Elementary School from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20. The turkeys will be distributed on a first come, first served basis with a limit of one turkey breast per household.
To help with the flow of traffic, Catholic Charities is asking families to enter only through 19th Street. Walk-ups are welcome and may enter through the main entrance.
John Etling, Agency Director of Catholic Charities, said he is grateful to partner with people in our community that want to provide help, especially to families with children.
“Christmas is a time to think of others; giving of ourselves and helping others in need reflects the true spirit of Christmas,” Etling said. “We are both in the service industry, so this is a true extension of what we do every day. Thank you Sally and Bill Stewart, for providing this gift and reaching out at this time of the year to provide help.”
