PARKE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Police have identified the Parke County deputy involved in an exchange of gunfire with a suspect on August 5.

Police say Fiscus died in the exchange. A deputy was wounded in the incident and taken to the hospital where he was treated and released later that day.
Indiana State Police say the investigation is ongoing and no further information is being released at this time.
When the investigation is complete, Indiana State Police will submit a report of the incident to the Parke County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
