TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A local gun store announced Wednesday that it will be offering free active shooter response training to law enforcement throughout the next week.
Top Guns on US-41 in Terre Haute offers this training annually for free to law enforcement agencies. CEO Steve Ellis said the set up at their facility makes this the only training of its kind in the Midwest.
“Because we have the facility, because we’re able to set it up and it’s a minimal cost, our cost is already set so it’s a minimal expense for us to allow the agencies to come through and do this,” Ellis said. “We want to make sure we’re getting our officers as much training as they can have to be as prepared as possible. God forbid they’re put in this situation.”
The store will be offering free training to law enforcement officers through Aug. 13.
