LINTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A local school corporation celebrated the opening of its new “connection center” Wednesday. It opened at Linton-Stockton High School, although it’s available for classes K-through-12 to use.
Teachers can bring classes in to use the space after booking a time. It has six different areas, including a presentation stage and collaboration booths.
Linton-Stockton School Superintendent Kathy Goads said the center will help students develop skills that will be useful later in life.
“We had a young student who was on a tour last week, a fifth-grader, who was chosen to do the podcast booth interview and when he left, he said, ‘Wow, I can really see myself doing this as a job.”
The project was funded by grants from Regional Opportunity Initiatives, the Indiana Department of Education and Duke Energy.
