SHELBURN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Sullivan County Sheriff Clark Cottom reported Friday night that an investigation into a suspicious package discovered at the Casey’s convenience store at 604 E. Curry Ave. in Shelburn determined that it contained no dangerous objects.
Witnesses reported a man placing a suitcase behind a sign near the fuel pump, and a suspect had been detained. Shelburn Town Marshal Matt Price cordoned off the area, with assistance from Sullivan County Sheriff’s deputies and Shelburn and Thunderbird Fire Departments.

As a precaution, a special response team from the Indiana State police was dispatched to examine the object.
At 10:45 p.m., ISP found the suitcase was not dangerous, and the roadway is now open.
