VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Vigo County Prosecutor’s Office has requested a special prosecutor in the investigation of an August 2, 2020 fatal shooting in West Terre Haute.
Fifty-five year old David Robinson, of West Terre Haute, was fatally shot in an incident in the area of U.S. Highway 150 and Pennington Road. Authorities were called to the scene and found Robinson on the ground with a gunshot wound. Robinson died on scene.
A second man was shot and taken to Union Hopsital, then to an Indianapolis hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Chief Deputy Prosecutor Rob Roberts says, “In February, we learned of the possible existence of a conflict of interest for the Vigo County Prosecutor’s Office on this investigation. After consulting with the Indiana Prosecuting Attorney’s Council, it was their recommendation that we seek the appointment of a special prosecutor for this investigation.”
Roberts says on February 25 of this year, the office filed a motion for a special prosecutor. The next day, special prosecutor David Thomas accepted the appointment.
Roberts says, “there are no further updates on the Chronological Case Summary since that time.”
