TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — After charges were dismissed in a 2018 Terre Haute murder investigation, the Terre Haute Police Department Violent Crimes Unit was able to obtain a new arrest warrant for the suspect.
Zavius E. King of Shelbyville, Ky. is facing multiple charges including murder and robbery resulting in serious bodily injury in the September 2018 shooting death of Ronnie Caldwell.
King was originally arrested days after the crime; however charged were later dismissed at the request of the Vigo County Prosecutor’s Office. Charges were eligible to be re-filed if new information or evidence was discovered.
King is currently in custody in the Shelby County Detention Center in Kentucky on unrelated charges. He will be extradited to Vigo County once legal process is followed in that state, according to police.
