VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Vincennes Police department reported Monday that it had recovered two stolen vehicles in a 24-hour period.
On Friday, Dec. 25, officers received a tip that the subject of a previously reported vehicle theft complaint was near Autumn Ridge. An officer came upon the vehicle and, seeing that it was occupied, detained the woman inside it. Kaiden Thacker was arrest for vehicle theft.
On Saturday, Dec. 26, an officer on patrol observed a silver Ford F-250 bearing Illinois plates. Knowing that the vehicle matched the description of one that had been reported stolen out of Illinois, he conducted a traffic stop. The driver, identified as Patrick Byers, was placed under arrest for possession of stolen property and possession of paraphernalia.
VPD thanked the community for its assistance in recovering the first vehicle, adding, “You are the eyes and ears of this community!”
