TERRE HAUTE, IND. (WTWO/WAWV) – Catholic Charities will hold its 9th annual holiday ham giveaway this weekend.
The event will take place this Saturday Dec. 19th at Ben Franklin Elementary School.
Assistant Agency Director Jennifer Buell says food insecurity in 2020 is the worst the organization has seen in the last 10 or more years.
“We’ve got a lot of families who have never before had to deal with food insecurity and don’t know where to go,” said Buell. “We appreciate our community partners stepping up to help us promote these opportunities for people to come and pick up some food.”
Hams along with traditional side items will be passed out. The food will be distributed on a first come first serve basis.
As they have in the past, Catholic Charities is teaming up with B & S Plumbing, who will be providing the hams.
Distribution will be held from 9 a.m until 11a.m.
