TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Karen Webb of Honey Creek Middle School was this year’s recipient of Indiana Library Federation (ILF) 2020 Lifetime Achievement Award.
The award is given to librarian who has shown outstanding service to Indiana libraries or media centers in the community, region or state.
“Getting this lifetime achievement award is a little overwhelming because it makes you look back over your life and you think about all these people that you’ve known,” stated Webb. “I mean the students, it’s just incredible.”
Webb has been involved in education for 39 years teaching in Clay County, Greene County as well as St. Mary-of-the-Woods.
‘When you earn award, it’s built upon all the experiences you’ve had with the people you’ve met,” explained. “Just thinking about what they taught you and how you can use it and just giving kids a great experience.”
Webb is currently the media specialist, AV director and technology resource teacher at Honey Creek.
The Indiana Library Federation says it is a stronger organization because of the dedication of Webb.
