CLINTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Terre Haute woman pulled over for a traffic stop on SR 63 near Whites Airport was arrested Monday on a variety of charges, including driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of meth, marijuana, a syringe and paraphernalia, and driving on a suspended license.
Deputy Nick Hall pulled over Sarah Lawson, 40, finding her to have a suspended Indiana driver’s license with prior suspensions within the past 10 years. Hall’s K-9 Zeus alerted him to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle and a search yielded a loaded syringe with suspected methamphetamine along with a small bag of suspected marijuana.
Lawson failed field sobriety tests on the scene and refused any chemical tests. After a search warrant was issued by the Vermillion Circuit Court, Lawson was taken to Union Hospital Clinton where blood was drawn.
Lawson is currently being held in the Vermillion County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
Clinton police officer Brandon Mahady and Deputy Chad Akers assisted in the arrest.
