TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A project to bring an outdoor entertainment and music venue to Terre Haute is moving forward.
This week, preliminary designs for The Mill Event Center and Amphitheater were revealed.
It will be located on the old International Paper property near Prairieton Road.
The owner of The Mill Tim Drake says 64 acres of land will be used for the project.
In addition to designs being released, grade work is underway for the venue.
Drake says The Mill has been years in the making and he’s excited about the recent progress.
“It’s been a process. We’re not through with it, we definitely have some more uphill battles to get there but we’ve started it and there’s no way we’re stopping now,” Drake said.
Drake says he is already in the process of booking bands for the venue.
He hopes The Mill will begin operating in May or June of next year.
