TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Indiana State University’s Board of Trustees on Wednesday approved priorities for ISU’s future objectives. “Focusing on our Future Together: A Strategic Plan for Indiana State University, 2021-2025″ listed those priorities:
• Prepare the workforce for Indiana and beyond
• Impact lives and communities
• Ensure equity and inclusiveness
• Increase institutional vitality, sustainability and performance
“We are excited to embark on this planning process during a critical time of significant change for higher education,” ISU President Dr. Deborah J. Curtis said. “I look forward to collaborating with campus leaders to continue to advance our campus.”
Formulating the plan will include goals, initiatives, and metrics to gauge performance. Dr. Brad Balch, dean emeritus and professor of Educational Leadership at Indiana State, will lead the strategic planning process. Balch has more than 20 years of strategic planning experience and frequently advises school corporations and other entities throughout the Midwest on strategic planning.
The new plan will cover four years because of the rapidly evolving landscape of higher education and the anticipated reduction in the number of traditional college-age individuals.
