VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Two people were arrested Monday following a police pursuit between Vermilion County, Ill. and Vermillion County, Ind.
Vermilion County, Ill. deputies attempted a traffic stop around 11:30 p.m. Monday on a vehicle driven by Joshua E. Brown, 41, of Ridge Farm, Ill. Instead of stopping, Brown led authorities on a high speed pursuit into Indiana on St. Rd. 32.
He continued into Fountain County, Ind. and ultimately into Vermillion County, Ind.
Stop sticks were deployed just east of St. Road 63 on St. Road 32. The vehicle came to a stop after Vermilion County, Ill. deputies were able to pin the vehicle in before it entered into the intersection of St. Road 63 and St. Road 32.
During the investigation, Officers located paraphernalia, methamphetamine and items commonly used to produce and distribute methamphetamine and other illegal narcotics.
Brown was transported to Union Hospital of Clinton, Ind. for medical clearance and a certified chemical test. The result was positive for several illegal narcotics.
Brown was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, resisting law enforcement, driving while suspended, possession of methamphetamine and manufacturing methamphetamine. He was transported to the Vermillion County, Ind. jail pending posting of $25,000 bond.
A passenger in the vehicle, Brittany M. Jenkins, 28, of Danville, was arrested and charged with resisting law enforcement and possession of methamphetamine. She was transported to the Vermillion County, Ind. Jail pending posting of $10,000 bond.
