WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– The Indiana Combat Veterans Motorcycle hosted their 7th annual thaw Saturday after it was postponed earlier in April due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The purpose of the event is to raise money to help other veterans in the area.
The group raised money through a series of raffles, drawings and admission fees for both riders and passengers.
A portion of the proceeds will go to other veteran organizations in the Wabash Valley. The Loyal Veterans Battalion will receive a portion of this year’s proceeds.
Michael Petty, the group’s public relations officer, said supporting others is what it’s all about.
“We’re all veterans so everybody in the organization is a vet. So we know what it’s like for other veterans who are coming back from overseas deployments. We’re just vets helping vets. That’s our primary goal,” he said.
