CLARK COUNTY, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — Clark County authorities are searching for an escaped inmate.
Thirty-three-year-old Daniel E. Carlisle was last seen near 2nd and Ash Street in Marshall. He is described as being 6’3″ tall and 152 pounds. He is not wearing an inmate shirt.
In a post to Facebook, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office says Carlisle escaped during routine outdoor inmate movement.
After learning of his escape, staff at the jail secured all remaining inmates and went into lockdown procedures.
At that time all available state and local law enforcement agencies responded to the area for assistance.
The sheriff’s office also says additional law enforcement was sent to areas where people congregate, like the Marshall Pool.
According to law enforcement, at the time of Carlisle’s escape he was being held for a driving violation, but also has a criminal history that includes domestic violence and vehicle theft.
Authorities warned residents not to approach Carlisle. Instead, call 911 or the Clark County Sheriff’s Office at 217-826-6393.
