CHICAGO, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) – Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker says the state can move to the phase of the Restore Illinois plan, beginning Friday.
Governor Pritzker says key health indicators trending in the right direction has allowed the state to move forward.
Phase four of the Restore Illinois plan is called Revitalization.
Pritzker says in this phase hundreds of thousands of Illinoisans will be able to return to work.
This comes as businesses such as health and fitness centers, movie theaters, museums, and zoos, can all reopen with guidelines.
Phase four will also allow restaurants to resume indoor dining services.
Pritzker says although the state is moving forward, he encourages Illinois residents to keep safety in mind to prevent taking a step back.
“I’m not afraid to protect the people of Illinois by moving a region back to an earlier phase if we see a surge. Ours will not be one of the states that takes no action in response to a return to the peak,” Pritzker said.
Pritzker says the next and final phase of Restore Illinois will only happen with a vaccine or highly effective treatment.
The next phase can also happen if any new cases are eliminated over a sustained period of time.
