TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — The Vigo County Coroner’s Office has released the name of a woman killed in a weekend crash on I-70.
Ashley N. Williams, 32, of Marshall, was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Indiana State Police, Williams was traveling westbound on I-70 Sunday afternoon when she failed to notice slowed traffic on the roadway. The SUV she was driving struck a semi driven by Sergiy S. Shadrin, 54, of Newmarket, Ontario.
Authorities noted the Shadrin had activated the hazard lights on the semi due to the slowed traffic.
Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a contributing factor of the accident.
