PARIS, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) – A company that manufactures grain bins plans to create dozens of new jobs in Paris, Illinois.
Mayor Craig Smith says GSI advised the city they plan to hire 50 new employees and are planning a 150,000 square foot expansion.
The city of Paris is helping the business get an economic block grant from the state of Illinois. The matter was discussed at Monday night’s meeting of the Paris City Council.
Mayor Smith says the city likes to be pro-active by working with companies already in the community.
“We’re 100% behind GSI. We’re glad that they’ve made that commitment to the city. We try to help existing companies that are already in the city stay in the city and expand, so that’s what we’re doing with GSI. It was great news for the city,” says Mayor Smith.
